In 2021, Cyclone Yaas caused widespread devastation across the coastal belts of West Bengal and Odisha, leading to extensive damage to property, agriculture, and infrastructure. Tragically, the cyclone claimed more than 150 lives and left thousands of families in dire need of assistance.
The Organization for Management and Development Centre (OMDC), with generous funding and support from Rahbar Foundation, launched the Cyclone Yaas Relief Program to aid affected communities. Relief efforts included the distribution of essential food supplies and aid packages to over 150 families in cyclone-hit villages. This timely intervention provided much-needed relief and hope to vulnerable households during a challenging period.
OMDC extends its sincere gratitude to Rahbar Foundation (USA) and all other supporters for their invaluable contributions, which made this relief effort possible.
